The Garda Cycle<\/strong> Route is a project that aims to create a bicycle route around Lake Garda, about 165 kilometers long, crossing Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino. Once completed, it will be a unique scenic route, also connected to European bicycle networks such as Eurovelo.<\/p>\n

One particularly famous section is the one in Limone sul Garda<\/strong>, opened in 2018, known for its suspended walkway with spectacular views of the lake. Work is currently underway to expand other sections, including those near Riva del Garda, with a focus on landscape integration and safety.<\/p>\n

The project has attracted great interest because of its beauty and tourism potential, but it has also drawn criticism for its high cost and possible environmental impact. To reduce the latter, design changes were made, such as the use of existing tunnels instead of new cantilever walkways.<\/p>\n

In addition to the sections under construction, there are already nearby bicycle routes, such as the one from Peschiera del Garda to Garda, and the Mincio River route to Mantua, both of which are popular with bicycle tourists.<\/p>\n
